Automotive Hall of Fame

Today I completed an item off of my “top 50” things that I want to accomplish. I visited the Automotive Hall of Fame where my Great-Grandfather was inducted in 1970. Louis H. Schwitzer, Sr.

It was a great road trip.

  1. My Dad worked for your great-grandfather’s company for over 37 years. Over all of that time, I only heard the company named pronounced with a hard “I”, but now I hear others pronouncing it with a soft “I”, such as in Swiss. How does your family pronounce it?

  3. Hi Greg,

Well, that’s a funny question. I pronounce it as Switzer (soft i) and my brother pronounces it as Schwitzer (soft i). But I have not heard anyone in my family use a hard i.

What was your Dad’s position at Schwitzer?
